Please join me in welcoming the newest addition to our financial management team, William A. Cunningham.

As Vice President of Finance, Cunningham will be responsible for the financial operations of Mercury Media’s Marlboro and Philadelphia offices and, in addition, Cunningham will be the Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer of Diversified Mercury Communications Holding Company, LLC and its subsidiaries.

The Old is Not New Again

I would like us to retire two phrases soon. Phrase one: old media. Phrase two: new media.

Media. One word. We have worked the old and new media differentiators to death. For media and marketing veterans, it often felt like there were two camps operating for the same purpose. Maybe new media was cooler and younger. Maybe old media stood for TV, print, and radio. I don’t know really. I do know that it never made sense to me.

CNN, Fox, and MSNBC are in a death struggle for viewers. The Deadliest Catch has everyone hooked. Pam Anderson has legged her way through Dancing With The Stars and that Final Four tournament people are still talking about was the most watched in history, just six weeks after the Super Bowl was the highest-rated football game in history.
